I am all packed and ready to go! Can't wait until I'm there in the warm and sunny weather as puddle town is driving me batshit.
I have a couple of side trips planned and room for a third one however I need to remember that I am having oral surgery and may not feel a lot like riding the bus for 4 hours. My place in San Jose has a pool and isn't in the middle of the city so relaxing poolside is an excellent option.
after arriving on the red eye flight from Denver, I have the rest of Wednesday to buy my bus ticket for Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast of the country. And exchange dollars for colones. I can do that at the airport but the nice folks at Kaps Place, where I am staying, tell me their rate is terrible..so I guess I'll asset it done sometime that day...only thing is I hate the very long lines at banks in Costa Rica. We are so spoiled here when it comes to the kind of customer service we expect..thee waiting on line is accepted as part of the normal routine.
My bus ride is about 4.5 hours, if all goes well and my cabin is right on the beach. Can't wait.
Taking my shiny new iPad instead of the computer..a couple of trips ago my old computer got wrecked while on a trip and after that I looked for an option to bringing it along. While the iPad has a couple o negative things..such as the inability to load pictures a from my camera for the blog or to send back, the ease of hauling it around in my purse, having books and movies and music available in this small machine is a major benefit, IMO.
I purchased a Zagg keyboard/case to go with it for $99.00 and love it..just like a little computer without the hard drive.
